AIDS
Direct Services, La Sala, HOPWA, Cena
Witnessing the changing faces of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and
evolving to assist the needs of the affected and infected
community. With a full bilingual staff, the program provides
case management, mental health counseling, home delivered
meals, transportation, emergency utility assistance and rental
subsidies specifically through HOPWA funds. Clients and their
families are also integrated into other agency programs. Thus,
providing a solid, comprehensive and culturally sensitive
support network.
Project Rap and HOPE in AIDS
Teen based initiatives involving Outreach, Health
Education/Risk Reduction Sessions and Prevention Case
Management for youth at risk.
Project FIRE 2
Our initiative for Men of color who have Sex with Men which
focuses on gay men, “men on the down low”, bisexual men, those
unsure of their sexuality, and the transgender population,
including The House of Newark. We provide Outreach, Health
Education/Risk Reduction Sessions, Prevention Case Management
and Support Groups for this program
Entre Amigas/Among Friends
For at risk Women, reaching them in a culturally competent
environment with Outreach, Health Education/Risk Reduction
Sessions, Prevention Case Management and Support Groups.
The
Everyday Man
Initiative for every man – brothers, fathers, uncles and
cousins in our community to teach them about HIV/AIDS with
Outreach and Health Education/Risk Reduction Sessions.
Project MaC
Our newest initiative with the goal to nurture and support
Mothers and Children. This program is a joint venture with
Isaiah House, The Leaguers, and the Newark Housing Authority.
This Support Group initiative will encompass teaching Mothers
and Children about HIV/AIDS prevention.
