Program Overview
This unit offers programs that provide family
strengthening, personal development, domestic violence
prevention, and socio-cultural opportunities for women,
families and senior citizens.
Growing
Together: A program designed to offer 30 mothers
of children under the age of six with parenting skills
training, family literacy, nutritional workshops,
individual and family counseling.
Fostering Women’s Achievement:
A workforce development program for 30 Latinas that
prepares them to enter or resume unsubsidized
employment, through individual development plans,
ESL/Civic, and work readiness workshops.
Project Haven: this is a
multicultural project that targets lesbians and
heterosexual women, especially Latinas who may be
limited English proficient, and who have been victims of
violence, including crimes of sexual assault and
domestic violence.
Special Needs Educational
Initiative: This project provides parents with
information on accessing early intervention services for
children ages 0-3.
Seniors’ Club- Viernes Social:
A program that provides senior client with a peer
support group and weekly socializing center where
clients partake in various activities such as bingo,
meals, dance, and arts & crafts.
Food Pantry: Monthly food
distribution to eligible families and individuals in
collaboration with the New Jersey Community Food Bank.
Approximately 70-90 families are served monthly.
